In addition to the audiologic requirements, Maryland Code, Commercial Law 14-2503 requires very specific language, font, size, and location of certain text on every hearing aid receipt. The language explicitly notes the purchaser’s right to cancel a purchase, the amount a seller can withhold, the total refundable amount, how an individual may cancel, and the date by which a cancellation must be made.
Please review these requirements and ensure your practice’s hearing aid receipt meets the legal requirements. As a reminder, MAA does not offer or sell hearing aid fitting receipts.
